Plain English: what we collect, why we collect it, who else can see it, and how to make us delete it.

John Ontario Agency is a marketing business based in London, Ontario, Canada, operating the website johnontarioagency.com. This policy covers that website and the services we run for our clients. We handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
When you fill in our contact form. Your name, business name, email address, phone number, city, the service you selected, and whatever you write in the message box. You choose what to put in it.
When you use the chat bubble on this site. The messages you type and our replies. We keep these so we can answer follow-up questions and see which questions come up often enough to write a page about. Don't type anything into it you would not put in an email.
When you browse the site. Which pages were viewed and when, grouped into a session. We use this to see which pages actually lead to enquiries. It is not tied to your name unless you also contact us.
If you phone a number we operate for a client. Our AI receptionist takes the caller's name, phone number, and a description of the job so it can pass the message to the business. That information belongs to the client business and is sent straight to them.
We do not sell personal information, we do not buy advertising profiles about you, and we do not run third-party ad-tracking pixels on this site.
To reply to you, to quote work, to deliver the services a client is paying for, and to understand which parts of our own marketing work. That is the whole list.
With a client's explicit authorisation, we connect to their Google Business Profile through Google's APIs so we can publish posts and photos, keep hours and services accurate, and draft replies to reviews on their behalf. The Google account holder grants that access themselves through Google's own consent screen, and can withdraw it at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
If you tick the consent box on our contact form, we may text you about your enquiry — a reply, a demo link, or arranging a call. Message frequency varies, typically about two messages a month. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
Reply STOP at any time to opt out, and you will receive one confirmation message and nothing after that. Reply HELP for help, or email johnontarioagency@hotmail.com.
We do not sell or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with anyone, and no third party receives them for their own marketing or lead generation. Your number is used only by us, only for the conversation you started.
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and the services. Each one only sees what it needs:
Some of these providers process data outside Canada, which means it can be subject to the laws of the country it is processed in. We do not share your information with anyone else for their own marketing.
Enquiries and chat transcripts: up to two years, so we still have context if you come back. Site analytics: up to two years. Client Google Business Profile access: for as long as we are working together, then deleted. If you ask us to delete something sooner, we will.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email john@johnontarioagency.com and we will action it within 30 days. There is no charge and you do not need a reason.
This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The chat widget stores a short session identifier in your browser so a conversation survives a page change. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Connections to this site are encrypted with HTTPS. Access credentials for client accounts are stored on systems we control and are not shared. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected people promptly if something goes wrong with their information.
This is a business-to-business service. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about them.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page.
